AWA HQ 2018

 Art-science+environment

AWA HQ’s third and final public project was about acknowledging the Toitū awa as a living entity. We started off on the lawn between Serpentine Avenue and Māori Road where, with the help of Moana Wesley and Te Rōpū Waiata O te Kaunihere-a-rohe o Ōtepoti, we learnt the Toitū waiata together. From there we walked up the road and scrambled down the bank where we could see, smell and touch the water. There we sang to the past, present and the future of the Toitū awa.
